Gallery of Stained Glass
.
I took my first stained glass class over 2️⃣ decades ago and after all these years,
I still find my head swirling around with new creative ideas.
Inspiration is Everywhere. Some days I can't keep up with all the scraps of paper
cluttering my desk of small ✏️ sketches I made on the fly while at restaurants,
sitting in the car 🚘 at a stoplight or during the night🌛when an idea just happens to pop in.

There's the joy of creating ideas and them comes the CONSTRUCTION PROCESS that involves a lot of steps and a lot of time! My original pieces begin from a fun idea, then onto a sketch, then I turn them into a viable pattern. Then there's color selection, cutting the glass pieces , then carefully grinding each piece so they fit together properly. Then there's skillfully applying the copper foil onto each individual piece a la Tiffany stained glass style. Then comes soldering all lines and the exterior edges. Then comes cleaning, applying patina, and polishing every nook and cranny. Finally, a chain is attached for hanging.
Here's what I've learned from my many years of experience:
Creativity is a force with its own set of rules ~
and it has to be cultivated over ⌛️ time (i.e. years).
It works Less like a faucet to be turned🚰 off/on or controlled,
but rather more like a welcome breeze💨 that enters
when you finally learn to let the muse's interior window stay open.
